Summer is the perfect excuse to buy local. The produce is at its prime! The farmers are happy to share the fruits of their hard work and the weather is conducive to shopping the farmers markets where local products are in abundance. Not only is it convenient, it often times proves to be higher quality, less expensive and tastier than anything you may get at your local supermarket. And as an added bonus you are helping out your neighbor who has worked very hard to make a product that he believes in. You help him to continue to do this important work and you get to eat the results. What could be better? We are very proud to support these hard working artisans and we carry as many of their cheeses as we can. Often times the cheesemaker stops by personally to drop off his cheese and get feedback on the newest batch. This feedback is an essential part of the cheese production as it is what helps make the cheese better and its popularity grow. So, we as cheesemongers and consumers play an integral role in helping these wonderful local gems to grow and prosper.
